This prestigious cash award is presented to an outstanding ADR student at each of Georgia&#8217;s five ABA-accredited law schools: Emory, Georgia, Mercer, Georgia State, and John Marshall. The award serves as a tribute to Ed Henning, a key figure in the mediation landscape of Georgia. <strong>Karthik Jayaraman<\/strong> has been named the recipient of this honor for Georgia State College of Law.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-medium-font-size wp-block-paragraph\">Reflecting on his academic journey, <strong>Karthik<\/strong> shared, &#8220;I completed my undergraduate degree in Engineering from the National Institute of Technology (NIT) in India and went on to earn a Master\u2019s in Business Administration from the University of Wales, UK. After graduation from law school, I plan to stay in Georgia and practice Family Law, with a focus on child custody and domestic abuse cases.&#8221;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-medium-font-size wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>Karthik<\/strong> emphasized the significance of mediation in the legal realm, particularly within family law. He stated, &#8220;Mediation plays a crucial role in the legal process, especially in family law. It provides a more compassionate, efficient, and cost-effective alternative to litigation, which can be financially and emotionally draining for families already in distress. In cases involving child custody and domestic abuse, mediation allows for a more private and controlled environment where sensitive issues can be addressed with care.
