For many years, the Atlanta Bar Association Dispute Resolution Section has sponsored the Edward J. Henning Memorial Award<\/strong>. This is a cash award given to an outstanding ADR student at each of the state\u2019s five ABA-accredited law schools: Emory, Georgia, Mercer, Georgia State and John Marshall. These awards are given in memory of Ed Henning, who was one of the \u201cfounding fathers\u201d of mediation in Georgia.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

At Henning Mediation, our work has always been about more than resolving disputes. It\u2019s about strengthening relationships, elevating the practice of mediation, and investing in the future of our profession. That\u2019s why each year, we are proud to support the Edward J. Henning Memorial Award\u2014a tribute not only to our founder\u2019s legacy, but to the values that continue to guide our work today.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Honoring a Legacy of Excellence and Service<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

In 1996, Ed Henning Mediation started Henning Mediation & Arbitration Service in response to increased demand for mediation in Georgia. Ed pioneered the art of collective mediation, establishing a model that continues to inspire organizations today.  <\/p>\n\n\n\n

The scholarship that bears his name is a natural extension of his vision for principled, professional, and people-centered mediations. It helps aspiring mediators and dispute resolution professionals access training, education, and opportunities that might otherwise be out of reach. In doing so, it ensures that Ed\u2019s commitment to excellence and service continues to shape the field for generations to come.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Strengthening the Mediation Community<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

One of the defining characteristics of the mediation profession is its collaborative spirit. Unlike many industries, we succeed not by competing alone, but by collectively raising the bar.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
