Biography

Halsey G. Knapp, Jr. brings more than four decades of Atlanta trial practice, strategic counseling, and dispute-resolution judgment to the mediation table. Clients have turned to him for steady judgment, practical solutions, and calm guidance when complex business relationships or high-stakes disputes are on the line.

Over the course of his career, Mr. Knapp has regularly advised clients on crisis management and best practices, with particular focus on business divorces, graceful C-suite departures, legal malpractice and ethics, and general business litigation. His work has given him a practical understanding of how to de-escalate conflict, re-open communication, and move adversaries toward forward-looking resolution.

Mr. Knapp has handled relationship-driven disputes involving business owners, operators, clients, suppliers, competitors, and other high-pressure stakeholders. His background includes business arrangements, limited liability entity operating agreements, real estate transactions, professional liability matters, and high-stakes business litigation.

For more than 15 years, Chambers USA Guide to America’s Leading Lawyers for Business has recognized Mr. Knapp for his solution-oriented approach to disputes. That recognition reflects the same qualities he brings to mediation: judgment, patience, strategic discipline, and an ability to help parties focus on practical resolution.

Mr. Knapp has also devoted decades of service to the legal profession, including work with the Inns of Court movement, national and local bar organizations, and committees focused on professionalism, mentoring, and the administration of justice. Most recently, he served for five years on the State Bar of Georgia’s Disciplinary Review Board, including as Vice Chair, and he continues to serve on the Statewide Business Court Committee.
