Honoring Ariel Paz Yitzchaki: A Rising Leader in Mediation

Home

Henning Mediation is proud to support the Edward J. Henning Memorial Award, presented by the Dispute Resolution Section of the Atlanta Bar Association. Each year, the award recognizes one outstanding student from Georgia’s top law schools who demonstrates a strong commitment to excellence in dispute resolution. This year, we are pleased to recognize Ariel Paz Yitzchaki as one of the two recipients representing Emory University School of Law.

Ariel is a third-year law student at Emory and a cum laude graduate of Mercer University. Before beginning her legal career, she worked as a news producer—an experience that sharpened her ability to analyze complex information and communicate effectively. During law school, she has continued to distinguish herself through both academic achievement and leadership.

Ariel’s legal experience includes a 1L internship with a district court judge, where she conducted legal research and drafted opinions and orders, as well as a 2L summer position with Greenberg Traurig in New York. Following graduation, she will return to the firm as an associate.

In addition to her professional accomplishments, Ariel has been deeply involved in the Emory community. She currently serves as President of the Emory Graduate Student Government Association and coaches two Moot Court Society teams. A talented advocate, she was also a semifinalist in the 2025 Georgia Intrastate Moot Court Competition and has served as a teaching assistant for multiple courses. She is also awaiting publication of her first article in the Brigham Young University Law Review.

Ariel’s perspective on mediation reflects a thoughtful and forward-looking approach to dispute resolution:

Mediation is a way to resolve problems through creative solutions that traditional legal remedies are not designed to address. Its ability to find common ground makes it especially valuable in matters involving ongoing relationships or where confidentiality is important, allowing parties to reach practical, mutually beneficial outcomes without the cost and strain of litigation. It focuses on actually resolving disputes—not just winning them.

Her insight captures the essence of mediation and underscores the importance of developing future leaders who value collaboration, creativity, and practical problem-solving.

Henning Mediation congratulates Ariel Paz Yitzchaki on this well-deserved recognition and is proud to support a program that honors a pioneer in dispute resolution while highlighting the next generation of leaders.
